Julie Nichols
Contract Attorney
Julie gives her clients the great benefits of a multi-disciplinary career and education. As a licensed attorney, she is known for her collaborative problem solving and understanding of the intricacies of family dynamics.
Given the emotional toll family matters can take on parents and children, her thoughtful approach to problem solving makes her a tremendous asset to clients of all backgrounds.
A Colorado nearly-native (here since the age of two), Julie graduated from Fairview High School in Boulder in 2001 and received her bachelor’s degree in history from Colorado College in 2005. She spent two years in New York City, focusing on the intersection of law and social work and earning her Masters Degree in Social Work from Columbia University in 2009. She returned to Colorado to attend the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, graduated in the top ten percent of her class and was admitted to the Colorado Bar in 2012.
After law school, Julie spent a year as a clerk for the Colorado Court of Appeals. Julie has practiced in the areas of immigration, workers’ compensation, domestic relations, trust and estates, probate, and construction law. In addition, she has worked as a parenting-time supervisor, and is trained in both mediation and as a Child and Family Investigator (CFI).
Julie’s practice at Wayland Law is primarily focused on estate planning and probate cases as well as in child-related post-decree issues, appellate work across a wide range of practice areas, and in satirizing the practice of law as a proud member and past-president of The Law Club.
